Arsenal have confirmed the kit they will be wearing against Manchester City for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon.

After all the drama surrounding Arsenal’s kit choice for the League Cup final this weekend, the club have confirmed in their regular segment ‘the Brief‘ that Arsene Wenger’s men will be wearing white shorts after all.

First, Arsenal were supposed to be wearing their Santa-kit for the big day. It would have been the second time in around 40 years that Arsenal had worn red shorts and red socks with their red-and-white shirts.

The first time was against West Brom on New Year’s Eve, and we all know how that went.

No one really understood why as, although City also wear white shorts, Arsenal have played against them in theirs before and there hasn’t been a problem. Or, if it was such a big deal, why couldn’t Wenger’s side wear their third black kit?

Needless to say, Arsenal fans weren’t happy at the kit change for such a huge game. Football supporters can be a superstitious bunch at times and, with the way Arsenal’s season’s going, the lads need all the luck they can get.

Finally, an EFL spokesperson confirmed that Arsenal would be allowed to wear white shorts after all, as it was only right that both teams wore their traditional kits for a final at Wembley.

Obviously now the club have confirmed this on their website.
