Henrikh Mkhitaryan loves playing with close friend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and feels Mesut Ozil is the best in his position.
When Mkhitaryan joined the club in January, it only made sense to bring his close friend Aubameyang along for the ride as well.
The two were a dangerous combination during their Borussia Dortmund days, and will be looking to replicate that at Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan has already provided an assist for Aubameyang, and has said he loves playing with him.
“We did not have too much time to train together [before the Everton game],” Mkhitaryan told Arsenal Player.
“He came a bit late, like two games before the game and he had been training only twice.
“Two days wasn’t enough to remember all the stuff that we did together but in the game it worked very well.
“I thought it could only be in a dream that we could join another club other than Dortmund but I am very happy for that. I know him very well, he is one of my best friends and one of the the best team-mates I have ever had.
“I am very happy to have him here and I think all the fans are happy to see him in an Arsenal shirt. What can I say? I love playing with him.”
The Armenian midfielder went on to praise Mesut Ozil, and seems delighted to be playing alongside him as well.
“Everyone knows that Mesut is one of the best players in the world,” he said.
“It is only happiness and joy to play next to him because he understands very well the game and has great vision, amazing technique and he is the best in his position.”
The three couldn’t combine against Tottenham, which has taken some of the shine off their signings.
The early evidence suggests that we’ll see them at their best at the Emirates Stadium, but not away from home.
Nonetheless, it’s refreshing to see a player be so happy to be at the club, especially with how things have gone this season.
Mkhitaryan will need to strike a good relationship with Mesut Ozil if Arsenal are to win the Europa League this season.
If he can link-up well with Aubameyang and make our remaining league games more enjoyable as well, then that’d be great.
