Despite previous reports claiming that Raheem Sterling will be included in Manchester City’s Carabao Cup final clash against Arsenal, the 23-year-old didn’t train ahead of the trip to London.

Sterling was subbed off during City’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Basel midweek and Pep Guardiola was unsure whether he would be fit enough to play in the League Cup final this weekend.

The 23-year-old apparently hasn’t been in training all week and missed the session ahead of the Arsenal game.

Manchester-based journalist Jose Alvarez Haya claims the winger won’t be involved in the final.

This contradicts the report from the Times (£) on Saturday, which said that both Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, who was sidelined for 41 days with a knee injury, were cleared ahead of the match at Wembley.

Whether Sterling will be included or not remains to be seen. Although he’s only featured in three League Cup clashes for Pep’s side this term, he’s a key first team player and you would imagine that having him available would be a boost.

The England international’s scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists over all competitions for City this season.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey trained ahead of the match, which is a massive boost for Arsenal.
