Mohamed Elneny is confident in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s ability and reckons the 28-year-old could be massive for the club.

Elneny has been quite the chatterbox this week.

On Wednesday, it came to light that the midfielder allegedly told French outlet beINSPORTS that Mesut Ozil has indeed signed a new contract with Arsenal and he’s also been talking about the Gunners’ new boy, Aubameyang.

“We know that Aubameyang is a great player… he is a strong addition with Mkhitaryan as well,” the 25-year-old told beINSPORTS, reports the Evening Standard.

“I have not met him yet, but I am happy he will be with us. I hope he will merge with us quickly to help the team achieve what we want.”

As Elneny says, Aubameyang is a great player nd the rest of the squad don’t need to have met him in the dressing room to know that. Although it does look as if he’s joined them in training now.

In 24 appearances for Dortmund this season, the 28-year-old scored 21 goals, which is a staggering tally.

Last term, he netted 40 over all competitions – six less than Arsenal have scored in the Premier League so far this season.

There’s no doubt the Gabon international will add some much-needed quality up front.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Aubameyang will be thrown straight into the mix against Everton or not. What with all the transfer excitement, it’s easy to forget that Arsene Wenger’s men actually have to play football at the Emirates on Saturday.

At the very least, the fans might be introduced to the £55.5m striker before the game.
