Petr Cech is expected to miss the North London Derby on Saturday afternoon, which is concerning.

Cech received a kick to the calf during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Everton at the weekend and was taken off at half time as a result.

Even though the 35-year-old didn’t appear seriously hurt, the Telegraph understands that he’ll still miss out on the trip to Wembley to face Spurs.

This will come as a massive blow to Arsenal fans as, even though Cech hasn’t exactly been in the form of his life lately, he’s preferable to the Gunners’ second choice shot-stopper: David Ospina.

The Colombia international has mainly been used in cup competitions for the last couple of seasons at Arsenal and has kept five clean sheets in 10 appearances this term.

Hearing Ospina’s name on the team sheet on Saturday won’t fill Gooners’ with much confidence as the 29-year-old has a habit of making blunders between the sticks. For example, he still struggles with the concept of holding onto the ball once you catch it.

Ospina could surprise us and put in the performance of his life but I hope Cech’s ready for the North London Derby instead. Mauricio Pochettino’s men won’t hold back.
