Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has hit out at reports that he’s asked to leave the club amid links with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Earlier in the week, a report from the S*n claimed that Arsenal were looking to sign Butland for £40m in order to replace Petr Cech.

On Tuesday, the Daily Star then said the 24-year-old had asked to leave Stoke in the summer.

The England shot-stopper has since lashed out on Twitter, denying the claims and urging fans not to believe everything they read.

Although Butland didn’t exactly deny that he could be moving at all in the summer, Stoke fans will be thrilled that he appears to have quashed rumours that he’s actively looking to.

The Potters are currently five points off West Brom at the bottom of the Premier League table having shipped a whopping 53 goals already – more than any other team.

Only five points separate 19th and 11th so the relegation battle going into the final stretch of the season looks like it could be more exciting than the title race, which Manchester City have already pretty much won.

Stoke need all their players 100% on board and focused if they’re going to stay up.

Butland, who’s been at Stoke since 2013, has until June 2021 on his contract, which is why he could reportedly set Arsenal – or Liverpool or Chelsea – back £40m in the summer.
