Chelsea hilariously lost 4-1 to Watford on Monday night and Arsenal fans reckon they only have one man to thank: agent Olivier Giroud.
Since Giroud’s move across London in January, Chelsea have lost 3-0 to Bournemouth and now 4-1 to Watford.
This leaves Chelsea just five points ahead of Arsenal, who could close the gap to two if they beat Spurs on Saturday.
Gooners are joking that the fan favourite has infiltrated our rivals’ camp and made them lose in order to help his former team finish in the top four.
Giroud was brought on for Pedro in the 64th minute of Chelsea’s astonishing defeat to the Hornets on Monday and, as Reddit user Haychko says, it just looked and felt wrong to see the big guy in Blue (and not playing for France).
Although the 31-year-old didn’t have a terrible 26 minutes on the pitch, you know, considering his new side were losing to Watford, he struggled to get involved and it was glaringly obvious that Antonio Conte doesn’t know how to utilise him yet.
He only managed one shot on target.
Although Gooners were having a great time laughing at Chelsea getting torn apart, many are still in mourning over Giroud and know that he could do much better than our London rivals.
If the France international and his family had changed their minds about staying in the English capital and gone to Dortmund instead, Giroud would most likely be enjoying regular, first team football.
The Bundesliga club might only be in fourth right now but at least he knows he would be used there.
Here’s what Twitter had to say about seeing Chelsea get thrashed on Giroud’s debut:

Olivier Giroud is bigger than Chelsea Football Club.

Will be weird watching Olivier Giroud playing with the Chelsea shirt.

Chelsea wanted a striker. Got Giroud and Conte is playing Hazard as a false 9.
Still don't understand why Giroud would want to leave us and go to Chelsea to just warm the bench.— P™ (@Cechque) February 5, 2018

So weird seeing Giroud in a Chelsea shirt. My brain keeps thinking he's just playing for France.

Seeing Giroud in a Chelsea kit is upsetting, until you realise we have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. About time the club were ruthless instead of blindly loyal.
