Theo Walcott admits that leaving Arsenal this week was ’emotional’ and revealed he had to visit the club at night in order to pick up his stuff.

During Theo’s first press conference as an Everton player, the 28-year-old was nothing but a gentleman.

The forward admitted it had been emotional leaving the Gunners, who he described as his family, but he’s also looking forward to playing for the ‘ambitious’ Toffees.

“I’m very ambitious and I’ve come here because I want the club to push to the next level,” he said.

“With the players that have come in, I feel like the next level can be reached. I’m very excited to be starting a new chapter and I felt this was the right place for me to be.”

Theo completed his £20m move to Merseyside this week. He reportedly signed a three-and-a-half year deal, which will earn him £110k-per-week.

After failing to make a single Premier League start for Arsenal this season and with the World Cup in the summer, it was the right time for Theo to leave but it’s understandable that he was emotional when it came to saying goodbye. The England international had been at the club for 12 years.

After the move was announced, Theo shared a video of himself thanking fans on social media.

The forward seemed to have a lump in his throat and it was good to see the response to him leaving was positive rather just mocking him because Gooners are glad he’s gone.

He also shared videos and pictures of him behind the scenes at Finch Farm on Instagram. Including a clip of him pretending to fall down some stairs…
