Former Arsenal Women midfielder and Manchester United fan, Lianne Sanderson, reckons that Henrikh Mkhitaryan would be a good fit in north London.

The latest reports suggest that, despite some deliberation, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be signing for Arsenal as part of a straight swap deal for Alexis Sanchez rather than as part of a player-plus-cash agreement as was initially speculated.

Sanderson took to Twitter to voice her opinion on the potential transfer and admitted that while Mkhitaryan has had a dip in form since his move from Dortmund to United in 2016, there are ‘7-8’ other players she would rather send to Arsenal before him.

What’s more, she reckons he could do well in north London.

Sanderson was a midfielder at Arsenal from 1997-2008 and then for a short spell in 2015. The 29-year-old only made six appearances for the Gunners during her second stint.

As a United fan, the England international will have watched Mkhitaryan far more closely than most of us.

Although the 28-year-old has only made 11 Premier League starts this term, in his final season at Dortmund, he made 28 in the Bundesliga and provided 15 assists, as well as 11 goals.

The Armenian has the ability to be a fantastic playmaker. I for one would love that to happen at Arsenal.
