Malcom says it’s his dream to play in the Premier League but Arsenal and Tottenham haven’t made any bids for the player this window despite claims to the contrary.

Speaking after Bordeaux’s 1-0 win at the weekend, Malcom refused to confirm whether he will be staying at the club.

He seemed content either way, saying (via GFFN): “I do not know if I will be staying or leaving. I leave that to my agents, to the club.

“If I leave that is great, I thank the club for everything. That is life. These are choices. There you go. Now we will see.

“If I have to stay, I will stay.

“If I am to leave, then I will leave. So long as I am here, I will do my work.”

On a move to England, he said: “Yes it is a dream, it is a dream for all players and I am no different.

“As I said, I am here, I must think about working and nothing else. I must not think about leaving now.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that dream is going to come true in the next fortnight.

Manu Lonjon and other sources close to the situation report that neither Arsenal nor Tottenham have even bid for the player, despite all the speculation surrounding the two clubs.

Goal claim Arsenal showed interest, but pulled out of the race this month. The Gunners could go back again with a formal offer in the summer.

From the sounds of things, Spurs aren’t trying to take advantage of that hesitancy to steal the deal away despite claims in the media. If the other North London club do make their interest official, we’ll see how Wenger and the rest respond to that.

The Brazilian is enjoying a very impressive season at the moment, considering he’s only 20 years old. The winger has scored seven goals and provided six assists in his 23 appearances so far.

At the weekend, he couldn’t add to that tally, but still created three chances, and both of his shots were on target.

He’s playing well, but for now, it seems like a transfer is on hold.
