Before Alexis Sanchez’s Manchester United move was announced, Mesut Ozil shared a picture of his London-based home that’s convinced fans into thinking he’ll stay at Arsenal.
Ozil is fairly active on social media, but his recent activity really got tongues wagging.
On Monday afternoon, the 29-year-old shared a picture of himself pointing to what appears to be a wall in his London home. The playmaker has had the wall customised with his personal logo.

In the caption of the post, the German has put ‘#myhome’ and ‘#London’, prompting Gooners to put two and two together and conclude that Ozil is calling London his home.

Really milking that you live in London aren’t you? I know a way you can guarantee that will still be the case for the next few years.

Ozil has always been vocal about his love of the capital city, but with just six months left on his Arsenal contract, his post led some to speculate that he could in fact be staying at there.
The ex-Real Madrid star bought his £10m north London home in November 2016, and while a lot of factors could have changed his opinion on staying since then, the fact that he appears to have customised it with his logo does make it seem he doesn’t want to leave soon.
What’s more, if Ozil was going to run down his contract, that would mean his focus would be on finding a new club in the summer when he should have all his attention on the World Cup.
The timing of the post could also be particularly poignant as it was just 80 minutes before Alexis’ big money move to United was announced. Of course, as ever, it could be nothing. I’ll put my tin foil hat back in its draw.
