Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly all interested in signing lightning-quick Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

United have been keeping track of Bailey’s progress since 2015, and even allegedly had a £22m bid knocked back by Leverkusen last month. Now, according to the Mirror, Chelsea and Arsenal have joined the race as well.

The 20-year-old only signed for the Bundesliga side from Genk for £12.4m in January 2017. The Jamaican took a while to bed in, but has netted eight goals and provided four assists across all competitions so far this season.

He’s very quickly become one of Leverkusen’s top players, so unsurprisingly, they’re reluctant to let him leave.

However, although Bailey is contracted until June 2022, a bid of over £40m could be enough to convince Leverkusen to part with the youngster early.

Bailey is primarily used as a left winger, like Alexis Sanchez, but he’s actually featured just as many times on the right this season. He’s even scored two of his six Bundesliga goals from that side.

Therefore, it might be sensible to bring him in for Theo Walcott, who looks to be on his way to Southampton or Everton this month. By the sounds of it though, if he’s going anywhere, it’ll probably be to Manchester United.
