Jon Moss will take charge of Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round clash at Nottingham Forest this weekend so let’s look at his history of refereeing Gunners matches even though we all know he’s one of the worst officials in the division.

For a start, I’m sure Granit Xhaka is happy he doesn’t have to take part in the match.

Jon Moss has shown two red cards to Arsenal players in six years, and both were to the Swiss midfielder in his debut season.

Xhaka was injured against Chelsea earlier this week, and Arsene Wenger ruled him out for Forest. So maybe the Gunners can keep 11 men on the pitch this time around.

Arsenal generally have a good record with Moss as referee, despite his total incompetence.

He’s overseen 17 matches, and Wenger’s men have only lost one of them. They’ve won 14, and drawn two.

However, both draws and the defeat have come in the last seven games, so our record is definitely getting worse.

Most recently, he refereed the 0-0 draw against West Ham United in December.

A more positive sign is that Jon Moss has only refereed one Arsenal FA Cup match in the past, and it was the 4-0 final win over Aston Villa in 2015. His appointment for that game was widely criticised.

I’d definitely take another 4-0 this weekend.

Although, my main hope is that the game isn’t decided by referees at all. We’ve had enough of that in the last week and with injuries already mounting up, the last thing Arsenal need is a referee who likes to let things ‘flow’ unless you’re called ‘Xhaka’.
