Arsenal are reportedly in a strong position to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and West Brom’s Jonny Evans by the end of the month.

With Henrikh Mkhitaryan already signed, it looks like Arsenal’s business this January is far from over. The Telegraph report that the club are in ‘pole position’ for two more additions:  Gabon striker Aubameyang and Northern Ireland defender Evans.

An Arsenal delegation consisting of Ivan Gazidis, Sven Mislintat and Huss Fahmy are in Germany to negotiate a deal for Aubameyang. The Telegraph’s report indicates that Arsenal are preparing to increase their offer from the initial £44m to £50m.

The possibility of Olivier Giroud heading the other way is also being discussed. Back at home, Dick Law is reportedly working on the deal for Evans. West Brom are keen for a quick sale as they want to bring in more attackers this month.

Manchester City were thought to be interested but have since turned their attention to Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte. That leaves Arsenal in the clear to sign the player for around £20m.

This January has been one of the busiest Arsenal have had in recent times, and we could end it with a brand new defender, midfielder and striker.
