Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly set to battle it out for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Goncalo Guedes, who has been put up for sale this month.

The 21-year-old, who joined PSG from Benfica for £27m last January, has been on loan with La Liga high-flyers Valencia this season, scoring and creating eight goals in 13 games.

He was set to join Los Che on a permanent deal, but the move fell through and now PSG have put him up for sale, according to Marca.

Reports suggest the Ligue 1 giants are looking to raise funds after spending £200m on signing Neymar from Barcelona and £160m on Kylian Mbappe from rivals AS Monaco.

Arsenal stand a chance of landing Guedes’ signature as a result, and they need to bolster their midfield given the lack of strength in depth.

Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny have been used sparingly by Arsene Wenger this season, which could see the pair moved on in the summer.

Guedes failed to get into the PSG side, and could be open to a move away from the Parc des Princes if he’s promised more opportunities.

Arsenal could sign the Portuguese international for £31m, and would do well to act before the likes of Manchester United blow them out of the water with a more lucrative bid.
