Arsenal could sign Paris St. Germain winger Lucas Moura on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.

Moura is out of favour at PSG this season and could soon be on the move for more playing time.

According ESPN (via the S*n), Arsenal will be looking to bring the winger in on loan for the remainder of the season.

Moura suggested earlier this month that his future could be in the Premier League.

“Is there a chance that I stay this winter? I do not think so,” he said.

“With what the coach has said, it looks like this is the end of my Paris story.

“I have offers but I cannot talk about them. I like English football very much, it is truly one of the best leagues in the world.”

Given Arsenal are about to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan and could sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well, it’s hard to see where Moura would fit in.

The Brazilian was linked with the club in the summer as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

It’s clear, though, that we had other targets in mind.

With Alexis being replaced, Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck serving as back-ups and one extra attacker potentially arriving, there isn’t a pressing need for Moura.

The S*n speculate that he could be an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replacement, but he was well covered when he left.

Theo Walcott has since been sold as well, but only managed five Premier League appearances before that.

Moura could be an alternative for other targets, but signing him as well would just be overkill.
