Sam Allardyce believes Theo Walcott lost his place at Arsenal due to the change in system, and feels he can produce his best form for Everton.

Walcott’s time at the club came to an end when he joined Everton last Wednesday.

He used to be a regular on the right side of Arsenal’s attack, but found himself on the bench after Arsene Wenger decided to change his formation.

The much-used 4-2-3-1 was swapped out for a 3-4-3. With one less attacker in the team, Walcott lost his place.

He struggled to regain it afterwards, and that eventually caused him to look for a move away from the club.

Allardyce is hoping that the forward can re-discover his best form again in his team.

“Theo is more experienced [in England than Tosun], he knows the Premier League inside out, and the players and teams he will be playing against,” Allardyce told evertontv.

“He has a very good track record. His last season was his best ever in terms of his appearances and goals. His place at Arsenal was only disrupted by them changing their system to a back three.

“Hopefully we can put him in a position where he can start creating and scoring for us like he did for Arsenal last year.”

Walcott’s 19 goals in all competitions last season was impressive, but not his best individual season.

That was the 2012/13 season, which saw him score 21 goals and register 16 assists.

It felt like circumstances conspired against him to force him out of the Arsenal team last season, but Walcott’s form deserted him in March.

Still, if Allardyce gets his performing well, they’ll have a dangerous player on their hands.
