Did you know that Henrikh Mkhitaryan speaks seven languages?

Arsene Wenger may have met his multilingual match in Arsenal’s potential new signing Mkhitaryan.

While the Frenchman can speak six languages – French, German, English, Spanish, Italian and some Japanese – the 28-year-old Armenian can speak seven!

That’s right, the playmaker can speak Armenian, French, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, English, and German. Pretty impressive for ‘just’ a footballer.

Mkhi can speak French because he allegedly idolised Zinadine Zidane growing up and lived in France when he was younger.

When he was 14, he lived in Brazil, which is where he picked up Portuguese, and he learned to speak Russian from his grandmother.

After five years in the Ukraine when he played for Metalurh Donetsk and Shakhtar Donetsk, he picked up their native tongue and then he finally learned German during his time in the Bundesliga.

Mkhitaryan is set to complete his move to Arsenal this week with Alexis Sanchez reportedly going the other way and most Gooners are excited about bringing the former Dortmund midfielder on board.

Not only is he a fantastic playmaker, who could excel next to Mesut Ozil, he’s obviously a useful communicator. It would be handy to have a player come in and automatically be able to talk to pretty much everyone.
