Chelsea could try to strengthen their attack with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
It seems Arsenal aren’t going to have a clear shot at Lemar during the January transfer window.
According to Le 10 Sport, Chelsea are the latest club to show an interest in the 22-year-old.
They report that ongoing uncertainty about Eden Hazard’s contract, and the unreliability of Pedro and Willian has convinced Antonio Conte he needs new attacking options.
Lemar, who could also be a target for Liverpool, is one of the most exciting attacking talents in Europe currently.
Arsenal spent all summer trying to sign him and came close with a £92m offer on the final day of the summer transfer window.
However, the more clubs that are interested, the harder it’ll be to sign him.
Arsenal don’t have the lure of Champions League football at the moment, unlike Liverpool and Chelsea.
It seems our best bet would be finish in the top four and try and sign him next summer.
However, with Liverpool and Chelsea sniffing about, we might not get that chance.
Lemar has two goals and four assists in 18 appearances for Monaco this season.
