Sevilla are planning a bid for Andrija Zivkovic, after Arsenal sent scouts to report on the winger’s progress at Benfica in recent weeks.

Portuguese outlet A Bola write that Sevilla are targeting the winger, but haven’t made an offer. The Spanish club have just sacked their manager, so they need to appoint a new one before bidding.

Mozzart Sport reported last week that Zivkovic could leave in January to try and get into Serbia’s World Cup squad. They wrote that Arsenal are scouting the player, who has a massive £53m release clause.

The Gunners should’ve had the chance to watch Zivkovic in person in the Emirates Cup over the summer. However, the 21-year-old was suffering from thigh problems at the time so he didn’t feature.

Arsenal sold Chris Willock to the Portuguese club over the summer, so they should be on good terms with each other. However, I can’t see the Gunners going for such an unproven winger.

The club could lose Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil in January or next summer, and Wenger needs to replace them with players of a similar level. But I guess we’ll see what the scouts and new Head of Recruitment decide.
