Real Madrid would be willing to offer Lucas Vazquez to Arsenal in exchange for Alexis Sanchez in January, according to reports in Spain.

Further to the earlier reports that Madrid have made Alexis their top transfer target, Don Balon now claim that they’d be willing to make it a swap deal.

Vazquez has apparently been unconvincing in Madrid, and the report states that Arsene Wenger would look at signing the Spaniard as “better than nothing”.

Just over a week ago, Diario Gol reported that Vazquez had a row with manager Zinedine Zidane after being left out of the team, with the player exploding at the end of the game and throwing expletives at the coach.

If those reports are true, Madrid looking to move the 26-year-old on would make sense.

However, perhaps they are just rumours, considering the £13.5m-rated winger started the next match against Sevilla, grabbing an assist in Real’s 5-0 win.

Either way, the winger has only started five league games all season, as well as just two of the six Champions League matches.

He has three goals and two assists in his nine starts in all competitions this season. So, if Alexis Sanchez is leaving, they might consider Vazquez a decent replacement.
