Aaron Ramsey has urged former Welsh international Carl Robinson to apply for the vacant Wales job.

The Wales job is available after Chris Coleman resigned to take over at Championship side Sunderland.

According to a report in the Times (£), Aaron Ramsey, along with fellow international Gareth Bale, would like former Welsh international and current Vancouver Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson to apply and have contacted him to tell him as much.

Currently, the Welsh FA are considering the options of Craig Bellamy, Ryan Giggs and Tony Pulis.

However, Robinson is said to have more support from the Wales players as he was a mentor for many of them during his own career.

Robinson, who played for Wolves, Sunderland and Norwich before heading to the United States, won 52 caps for Wales before retiring from international football in 2009.

He welcomed an 18-year-old Aaron Ramsey into the Wales set-up and partnered the teenager in midfield.

Robinson became the manager of Vancouver Whitecaps in 2013 and has been there since.

During his time there, he’s won 64 of 168 games, and has taken them to the MLS play-offs three times.

He also took them to the semi-finals of the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League.
