Alexandre Lacazette has reflected on his first six months as an Arsenal player and his experience with English football.

Lacazette has scored eight goals for the club after joining from Lyon for a record fee in early July.

It’s been an interesting first six months for him.

Speaking to La Parisien, the Frenchman feels that the Premier League has been everything he’s expected it to be.

“I have always been a big fan of the Premier League,” he said.

“This is what I’ve expected for this league. It’s very physical, very fast and has a very high level in every game.”

Lacazette’s eight goals this season make him Arsenal’s joint top-scorer this season. On top of that, he’s shown that he can link-up very well with his teammates.

While acknowledging that Arsenal can always do better, he feels he’s having an easier time connecting with his new teammates.

“I’m satisfied. We can always do better, but I’m adapting. I know my teammates better, so it’s easier.”

La Parisien points out that Lacazette has won just 41% of his duels this season. It’s something he’s aware of and wants to improve.

“There are battles in every game with opposing defenders,” he said.

“The referees also let a bit more go than in France.

“But I’m working hard to improve.”

Despite not starting at Anfield and the Etihad Stadium this season, Lacazette feels he’s had plenty of positive experiences so far.

“I’ve had a lot of good moments. My first goal against Leicester at home on the first day was special. Psychologically, it was a boost. There was also the double against West Brom and the pass for Sanchez during the win over Tottenham. That match was incredible.”

He’s still adapting to English football and picking up on its various quirks.

One of those quirks is early kick-off times on a Saturday, something that French football doesn’t have.

“I’ve never had to play so early in my life,” he said.

“Eating pasta at nine in the morning is not great!”
