Arsenal are following Bordeaux star Malcom, amid rumours of a £33m bid from Manchester United for the young Brazilian winger.

The Daily Star claim Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the winger on a number of occasions this season. United are preparing a £33m offer for the Brazilian, however, so they must be in the driving seat. Bordeaux’s asking price is apparently £50m, so it might not be a done deal just yet.

The 20-year-old joined the Ligue 1 outfit last January but took a while to really make an impact. In his first six months, he scored two goals and provided one assist. Then, in 2016/17, he improved significantly, scoring nine and assisting seven in 45 appearances.

Now, Malcom is on track for double figures in both, with seven goals and five assists in the first half of the season. Some of the top European clubs have clearly noted that form, particularly as it comes in a Bordeaux side that sit one point above the relegation zone.

Arsenal are in need of a forward who can bring goals. Alexis Sanchez is out of form and potentially on the way out, so the Gunners need to replace him. Whether Malcom fits the bill, we’ll have to wait and see.
