Manchester City have joined Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain.

Don Balon write that there are a number of offers on the table for Benzema, with the Gunners, City and PSG all showing an interest, reports Manchester Evening News.

The French striker signed a new deal with Real Madrid just a few months ago, but that didn’t stop the Spanish media from linking him with Arsenal.

Since then, Benzema’s agent spoke out back in October, to reaffirm that his client was very happy at the Bernabeu, and had no intentions to leave the club.

That dulled the rumours temporarily until the 29-year-old’s poor form and rumours of a fallout with Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo started them up again.

Benzema only has two goals and two assists in the league this season. Alexandre Lacazette has bagged four times as many goals by comparison. Olivier Giroud has matched the Real Madrid striker’s despite only starting once in the league.

It’s hard to see why Arsenal would spend big on a 29-year-old with that kind of record, especially one who will be on massive wages.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain’s reported interest doesn’t seem genuine to me either, given both sides have spent large sums in the summer bolstering their respective attacks.
