Alexandre Lacazette has talked up the qualities of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and how well he gets on with the talented Arsenal pair on and off the pitch.

Lacazette spoke to Arsenal Player about the pair, now that he’s been playing with them both for a couple of months.

“For Mesut, it’s about passes, his vision of the game and passes. And for Alexis, perseverance. He always wants to go further, be stronger and rise higher.

“As well as being very fast, he always wants go even further. I already get on very well with them in every day life.”

The trio have already shown how well they can work together for the Gunners. They’ve now started six matches together, and have eight goals and eight assists combined in those appearances.

That’s probably largely as a result of their different playing styles, as Lacazette highlights. Özil links up play well, creating chances and picking out the right players at the right times, something which Lacazette also excels at to a lesser extent.

What the French international is best at is getting on the end of those passes and finishing them off in a clinical fashion. Meanwhile, Alexis is also more direct than Özil, despite playing wider or deeper than Lacazette.

He always wants to go for goal or play a final ball, which is a blessing or a curse depending on how well he’s playing.

So with one player who always wants to go straight for goal, one player who wants to provide chances and link-up play, and a striker who has a bit of both, the combination has worked well so far.

With Alexis and Özil’s contracts expiring at the end of the season, let’s make the most of it while it lasts.
