David Moyes says Joe Hart will start in goal for West Ham United in Tuesday’s League Cup clash with Arsenal, which should please Gunners supporters.

Moyes revealed in his pre-match press conference that Adrian will be left out for the quarter-final clash, as the Hammers are instead going to give a chance to out-of-favour Hart.

Hart had eight years of experience as the first-choice goalkeeper at Manchester City, and has also made 75 appearances for England, so on the surface that seems like it would be a bad thing for Arsenal. However, the Gunners have a great record against the keeper.

The 30-year-old has faced Arsenal 15 times, all in the Premier League, twice with Birmingham City and 13 times with Manchester City. In all those matches he has only been on the winning side three times, whilst he’s lost on six occasions, and only kept four clean sheets.

The most recent of those clean sheets came back in January 2013, which was also the last time he started in a win against the Gunners.

Arsenal do have a habit of defying expectations when it comes to goalkeepers, especially in scoring just two goals in the last three games. But, hopefully, in this case they can stick to the form book and put a couple of goals past the Hammers’ summer signing.
