Arsenal may have to pay £22m if they want to sign Hoffenheim’s young playmaker Nadiem Amiri.

Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri is attracting the attentions of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham with his performances this season.

According to Calciomercato, Hoffenheim have put a £22m asking price on his head in anticipation of bids during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has played 19 games this season, helping Hoffenheim to seventh place in the Bundesliga. For a midfielder that possesses a lot of talent, £22m seems a low asking price in this market.

However, he may not yet be ready for a move to Arsenal. The Gunners will need more depth in midfield should they lose Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil in January or in the summer.

Amiri’s inexperience means he may not be able to come in and perform at a high level straight away. The German u21 international has two years remaining on his Hoffenheim contract.

You imagine they’ll be keen to extend that deal and ensure that they get as much money for him as possible. Arsenal might be better off looking for a more experienced option if they want a new signing to make an instant impact next month.
