Contrary to reports earlier this week, rumoured Arsenal target, Gonçalo Guedes, allegedly hasn’t agreed a deal to join loan side Valencia on a permanent deal.

Arsenal have been linked with the Paris Saint-Germain winger since 2015. However, obviously, a move for the 21-year-old never materialised. This time, we’ve even reportedly made contract with the Portuguese player’s agent.

However, the Gunners supposedly face competition in their pursuit of Guedes in the form of Atletico Madrid. The La Liga club look set to lose their star player, Antoine Griezmann, to Barcelona in January.

Therefore, they need a replacement and fast.

Buuut…

Earlier in the week, reports claimed that PSG had come to a £31m agreement with Valencia. The winger is currently enjoying an exciting loan spell at the Spanish club, who now apparently want to sign him permanently. Presumably, Guedes wouldn’t mind this considering he’s far more likely to get regular football at Valencia than PSG.

However, other sources vehemently deny that any deal has been reached.

Still with us?

Guedes is currently enjoying his football at Valencia. In 12 La Liga appearances the 21-year-old has netted three goals and assisted five before getting injured. Therefore, if there’s an opportunity to stay and improve upon this next season, it’s not hard to imagine he’d prefer that over another move.

PSG obviously need to balance their books and therefore seem pretty keen to sell.
