Östersund striker Alhaji Gero is over the moon with the Swedish team’s Europa League draw against Arsenal.

Speaking immediately after the Europa League draw, Gero pointed out how huge it is for Östersund to play a team like Arsenal and genuinely seemed thrilled.

“Wow, it was absolutely a great draw for us, it’s going to be a top and crazy game because we are playing against one of the best teams in the world,” 24-year-old told All Nigeria Soccer.

”Alex Iwobi is absolutely a great player and he been doing an amazing job for the nation.

”Yeah I watch him in the Super Eagles and in Arsenal as well, he is great, really a good player.”

Östersund and Arsenal have never played each other. However, considering the Swedish team are currently in fifth-place in the Allsvenskan, the Gunners will be huge favourites.

This doesn’t mean that Gero’s side don’t have a chance, of course. If their manager, Graham Potter, has watched Arsenal at all this season, he’ll know exactly how vulnerable we can be and if Östersund can press us, they could potentially get one or two goals.

It’s up to Arsene Wenger and his men to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Gero has made 29 appearances for Östersund this year, scoring three goals and assisting the same amount over all competitions, which, with all due respect, isn’t very impressive for a striker.

What’s more, the Nigerian has received two red cards – one for two yellows and the other was a straight red after only being on the pitch for 23 minutes. Again, for a centre-forward, that’s pretty interesting. Perhaps we should watch out for this guy…
