The FA WSL Conti Cup quarter finals draw has been made, and the Gunners will be playing Sunderland at home.

Finishing runner-ups in Group One South behind Reading meant Arsenal could only draw the Group winners from Group One North Sunderland, Group Two North Manchester City and Group two South Chelsea.

The home defeat to Reading in the Group stage game was really costly in the end. Obviously luck has been on the Gunners’ side, as Arsenal have drawn the weakest of the three teams in Sunderland, at home, with the game to be played on December 16/17.

Full draw is: Bristol v Manchester City, Chelsea v Liverpool, Everton v Reading, Arsenal v Sunderland.

Holders Manchester City are at away to Bristol and should go through easily. Chelsea Ladies are also favourite to go through as they will be at home to Liverpool, while Reading will be favourite away to Everton.

Arsenal will be hoping they have a safe passage through, as Sunderland should be a more than beatable opposition, especially on home soil.

The last time Arsenal faced the Black Cats, they ran out 3-0 winners, thanks to goals from Louise Quinn, Vivianne Miedema and Jordan Nobbs.
