Real Betis are hoping that Arsenal sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla in January so Jack Wilshere becomes available.

Betis retain an interest in Wilshere and are hopeful of signing him in the January transfer window. According to El Gol Digital, the La Liga side want Arsenal to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla, as they feel that would push Wilshere out of the club.

N’Zonzi would surely be a first-team regular at Arsenal, and would be one more player Wilshere would have to compete with for game time.

Wilshere would like to stay at Arsenal but his principle concern is getting enough minutes on the pitch to convince Gareth Southgate to call him up for England ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

At the moment, the majority of his minutes are coming in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. In the Premier League, Wilshere has appeared just four times off the bench this season.

Real Betis had an interest in the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window but were unable to sign him. Wilshere decided to stay at Arsenal to see what happened between then and the January transfer window.

Talks about his future are set to get underway this month.
