Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Marouane Fellaini for their trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho confirmed that the trio will miss the Arsenal game, and that there is also a doubt about Nemanja Matic.

“Matic is a doubt,” said Mourinho, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“I hope he can but I cannot guarantee he is selected to go. Let’s see the feeling before the match, let’s see the warm-up. I hope he can, I want to, he wants to, but I cannot guarantee and Fellaini is not travelling with the team.”

Jones and Bailly have been absent for United since the last international break, while Fellaini missed their 4-2 win over Watford on Tuesday with a knee injury.

Their absences could be a boost for Arsenal, as that’s a lot of muscle that United would be missing.

It means we could come up against Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof in defence. Both have had shaky seasons so far.

No Fellaini means Arsenal won’t have to deal with his aerial threat and his stray elbows.

The loss of key defensive players may convince Mourinho to play a more attacking game.

Alternatively, they could park the bus even more than they usually do to disguise any defensive frailties they may have.

Either way, Arsenal will have plenty of problems to deal with.

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku are expected to start and will provide a threat to the Arsenal defence. Matic, meanwhile, has travelled with the squad but is still a major doubt.
