Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly lining up a £25m bid for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, leaving Arsene Wenger with a big decision to make.

Despite ongoing interest from Manchester City, PSG feel that they can sign Alexis Sanchez in January. That’s according to an exclusive from the Daily Express, who report the French club are preparing a £25m offer.

The Chilean’s representatives were in Paris last week and keen for a quick deal, says the report. However, it also says that Alexis has made up his mind about a move to City. If that’s the case, then PSG’s January bid isn’t going to get them very far.

Alexis was close to joining City on the final day of the summer transfer window. The move, though, was dependent on the Gunners signing a replacement, which they failed to do. As a result, he remained an Arsenal player.

His form has been patchy at best this season too. While there have been odd glimpses of quality, such as his backheel assist against Brighton, there’s been a lot of wastefulness.

The forward has four goals so far this season. At the same point in the last campaign, he had 12. Such form has led to fans feeling that a sale in January might be for the best.

Arsene Wenger has previously said that he doesn’t intend to sell anyone mid-season, especially with so many games coming up. Yet, should a big offer arrive from someone, it might be worth considering.

At his best, Alexis is an excellent player who can propel Arsenal into the Champions League spot. The question is if the London side can get the best out of him on a consistent basis anymore.

If not, it might be best to move on and start thinking about the future of the team’s frontline, as Alexandre Lacazette, Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil aren’t bad options in his stead.
