Arsenal Women’s FA WSL clash at home to Liverpool this afternoon has been postponed due to snow.

Arsenal’s 2pm match against Liverpool Ladies at Meadow Park today (Sunday) has been called off and will be played at another time due to the heavy snowfall overnight.

The match was set to be new manager Joe Montemurro’s first game in charge and since the Spring Series clash ended 4-4, a thrilling match was expected.

Of course, fans are feeling more than a little let down considering it took Arsenal until 10am to actually announce that the match happening four hours later wasn’t going ahead. Some have made long journeys to be here for nothing.

The Gunners have a multi-surface pitch at Meadow Park so it’s assumed they wanted to hold off until a little later when they were 100% sure it couldn’t be played.

There’s no word on when the match will go ahead yet but we’ll keep you informed.

Liverpool’s Saturday evening match against Sunderland will also be postponed as the pitch will be unplayable.

An amber warning has been issued across large parts of country after heavy snowfall on Saturday night.

The snow’s affected numerous areas up and down the UK so, if you’re going to a match today, make sure to check it’s still on before you travel if possible.
