Arsenal have reportedly been scouting Benfica winger, Andrija Zivkovic, this week.

It seems that Arsenal’s scouts have set up camp in Portugal as not only have we supposedly been keeping an eye on Porto’s Danilo Pereira this week, we’ve also been scouting Zivkovic again.

Despite only making six Liga NOS appearances for Benfica this term, Arsenal have allegedly still been watching Zivkovic ahead of a possible January move.

The Gunners have been linked with the 21-year-old since the beginning of 2017. However, the rumours recently went cold and we thought we’d heard the end of it. How wrong we were! Allegedly…

Not stacking up

It’s hard to believe Arsenal Wenger is truly interested in the Serbia international. He’s not having the best season having made just six starts across all competitions.

Plus, he reportedly has a whopping €60m (£53m) release clause. There’s no way the boss would break Arsenal’s transfer record on a 21-year-old winger who’s only made 14 appearances for Benfica this term.

Zivkovic still has until June 2021 on his contract with the Portuguese team and while his lack of game time suggests that Rui Vitória may want to sell him, I doubt north London is the winger’s destination.

The young Serbia international has only been at Benfica since 2016 when he signed from Partizan on a free.
