A story about Arsenal’s summer training camp in New York has emerged on social media, and it really does appear the club’s class extends around the globe.
Jacques Joseph, a football coach and Gooner from New York, recently shared the story of how they witnessed Arsenal’s class first hand.
The coach revealed on Twitter that they had been helping at Golden Goal Residence in Upstate New York. The sports park hosts numerous teams, including Arsenal Academy Camp during the summer.
Arsenal Academy Camp is a one-week training course for budding football players. The kids are trained by coaches who replicate the actual methods used at Arsenal’s academy in Hale End and are also given the new kit before it’s officially been released.
At the same time as Arsenal’s Academy Camp was taking place at Golden Gold, an organisation that brought underprivileged kids from the Bronx out for the day was taking place.
There was also an organization/camp that same week who brought underprivileged kids from the Bronx to Golden Goal so they could experience a residential camp experience out of the city. Those kids were so happy to be there and were living a dream.

The organisation politely asked Arsenal if the kids could have an afternoon training session under the coaches.
The Academy didn’t just say yes, they allowed the kids to experience the entire week-long camp and they even got the new kits too.
Arsenal not only said yes, but took it to an higher and unexpected level. They ACTUALLY ADDED ALL THE KIDS TO THEIR OWN RESIDENTIAL CAMP FOR FREE!!! Those underprivileged kids got top coaching from Arsenal for a week and went back to their neighborhood with the new kit!!

It was a wonderful touch and does make me immensely proud to support such a classy club.
I highly recommend reading Jacques’ entire thread in full here – it’s really heart-warming.
