Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas as a replacement for Petr Cech, according to reports.

Navas has been the first choice keeper at Real Madrid since 2014, but could soon be on the way out the club.

According to Calciomercato (via Fichajes), Madrid want to sign Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, which would require them to sell one of their current goalkeepers.

While Kiko Casilla is their current back-up keeper and would be the likely choice to be sold, the report says that Arsenal could solve their problem for them by signing Keylor Navas.

The reasoning behind this is that Petr Cech is 35 and will soon need replacing.

Navas, who is 30, wouldn’t be a long-term replacement, but may have more years left in his prime.

Arsenal have also been linked with Arrizabalaga.

The Athletic keeper is out of contract in the summer and has several clubs looking to pick him up on a free transfer.

Madrid are reportedly the favourites as they would be willing to part with a fee to sign him in January.

However this pans out, it seems Arsenal will have two potential targets should they decide to strengthen in goal in the summer.
