Arsenal’s squad could undergo massive change as up to eight players could leave the club in the summer according to reports all over the press on Saturday.

In a rather interesting coincidence, both the Daily Mail and the Mirror are reporting that Arsenal’s squad could be set for significant changes in the summer.

John Cross of the Mirror reports that up to eight players face uncertain futures at the club.

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Per Mertesacker, Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud are the players who could leave in the summer.

In Mertesacker’s case, he’s retiring at the end of the season to take over the club’s academy. This has been known since the summer.

Alexis, Ozil and Wilshere are out of contract with little progress being make on extensions.

Ramsey and Welbeck are out of contract in 2019, and Arsenal are said to be desperate to extend their deals.

Walcott and Giroud are struggling for game time in the Premier League this season and could leave if their situations don’t improve.

The Mail report the same, only they add Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy to the list.

Both reports also mention Sven Mislintat and identify two players he’s apparently already recommended to the club.

Wherever this news has come from, and it’s certainly suspicious that both the Mail and the Mirror would have near identical articles at the same time, it’s clear that Arsenal will have a lot of work to do on their squad in the summer.
