Tim Sherwood feels Arsenal are capable of pulling results out of nowhere when under pressure.

The former Tottenham manager was giving his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s North London derby. Sherwood expects his former club to win comfortably, but believes Arsenal are capable of winning whenever their backs are against the wall.

“Tottenham are capable of inflicting a heavy defeat on Arsenal,” he told Sky Sports’ The Debate Show. “I always think with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, they are always at their best with their backs against the wall.

“They somehow find a result and pull it out of the bag. They have done it for years. I think Tottenham will win comfortably, but Arsenal have won trophies and done it for years.”

Arsenal have the ability to bounce back from disappointing defeats and prove people wrong when they’re written off. The pressure is certainly on the team already this season, with them being 12 points off Manchester City at the top of the table.

The 3-1 defeat in Manchester has done Arsenal no favours. It’s now even more vital that Arsenal defeat Tottenham on Saturday. It’d be the Gunners’ first win over them in some time, and would close the gap between us and them to just a single point.

A win would be a timely morale boost ahead of a busy period of fixtures. It’d also improve what’s been a disappointing record against the top sides so far this season.

The team has already lost away to Liverpool and Manchester City. A draw at Stamford Bridge has been as good as it’s been.
