Real Betis will make another attempt to sign Jack Wilshere, according to reports.

The Spanish club were interested in signing Wilshere during the summer but the 25-year-old decided to fight for a place in the Arsenal team.

According to the S*n, though, Betis will return in January to make another attempt to sign him, and feel confident that the thought of a fresh start in a new country can lure him to Spain.

Wilshere is out of contract in the summer, with talks over a new deal set to begin in December.

Should the talks not happen, or should Wilshere not reach an agreement with Arsenal, he would be free to talk with foreign clubs in January and a sign a pre-contract agreement.

Wilshere, who Wenger recently described as “super fit”, is back playing for Arsenal again after a year on loan with Bournemouth last season.

A leg injury kept him out of pre-season, but he’s since returned to full fitness and is now pushing for a place in the Arsenal first team.

Currently, his appearances have been limited to the Carabao Cup and the Europa League, where he’s performed very well.

More first team opportunities, particularly in the Premier League, could be the key to keeping him at the club beyond this season.
