Mesut Ozil heaped praise onto Alexis Sanchez on Saturday following the forward’s goal against Tottenham in the North London Derby.

Ozil and Alexis were both brilliant in the North London Derby this weekend, with the Chilean netting his second Premier League goal of the campaign.

Speaking after the match, Ozil hailed his teammate and revealed how happy he is to be playing alongside the 28-year-old, as well as Alexandre Lacazette.

“Our aim was to give everything,” said Ozil. “We believe in ourselves and at end of the day we’re really happy.

“I really enjoy [playing with Lacazette and Sanchez]. We have good quality. Lacazette and Sanchez are always dangerous, they can always score.

“Alexis especially today showed his quality and I’m really happy for him to score against Tottenham. We’re really happy to win this game.”

Ozil won Man of the Match for his performance. Despite the playmaker only completing 81% of his passes, he provided a fantastic free-kick for Shkodran Mustafi’s goal and didn’t stop fighting. His display was gritty and determined – like he had a point to prove.

Similarly, Alexis was strong as well and obviously scored Gunners’ second goal. He almost looked happy about it until he remembered that he’s supposed to hate Arsenal.

Lacazette wasn’t as sharp as he usually is but still had a good game. He shouldn’t have had his early goal ruled out after Jan Vertonghen needlessly threw himself to the ground.

The 26-year-old played 76 minutes for France during their friendly against Germany last Tuesday and scored a brace, so he’s probably off the pace for a reason and will be fine Arsenal’s trip to Burnley on Sunday.
