AC Milan haven’t yet bid for Oguzhan Özyakup, despite joining Everton in declaring an interest in the former Arsenal man.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Milan are watching Özyakup’s situation keenly but are yet to make any kind of formal bid. The Turkish star’s contract expires at the end of the season, so a decision on his future will have to be made one way or another.

Arsenal will hope that the decision involves Oguzhan moving on, because the Gunners would collect 30% from any sale in January. If the contract expires in the summer, that opportunity is gone, and Besiktas can keep the full proceeds for themselves.

There are even some rumours that the Gunners could look to sign the player themselves. Arsenal haven’t always had the best time with central midfielders recently, and things could get even worse if Jack Wilshere leaves for free next summer.

For now, there doesn’t seem to be anything concrete in the links. But considering it would be a free transfer, it might not be a bad idea to get in contact in January. At the moment, it seems we’re all just waiting to see who makes the first move.
