Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was in Sweden to see Emil Forsberg play, according to reports.

The Swedish attacking-midfielder is interesting top clubs around Europe, including Arsenal.

According to Tribal Football, Manchester United are also keen on him, with manager Jose Mourinho travelling to Sweden to watch him against Italy.

The RB Leipzig midfielder, who has been valued at £20m, put in a good display as Sweden defeated Italy 1-0 in the first leg of their World Cup qualifying play-off. He was action again as Sweden booked their place at next summer’s World Cup, eliminating Italy.

Forsberg was in excellent form for Leipzig last season, as his nine goals and 17 assists helped them to a second-placed finish in the Bundesliga. This season he’s yet to provide many assists, but has helped his side to second in the table after 11 games.

With Arsenal likely to lose both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the same summer, they will be losing a lot of creativity. Forsberg could be one of the players to remedy that. However, Leipzig are unlikely to sell cheaply.

Manchester United’s interest would be unwelcome, as they would be more prepared to pay big money to land their targets.
