Olivier Giroud’s stunning overhead kick against Red Star Belgrade has won the fan vote for Goal of the Month.

Giroud’s Europa League goal away to Red Star has been voted Arsenal’s best for the month for October.

Some mouth-watering link-up play between Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Giroud, which led to a stunning overhead goal from the striker, obviously stuck in Gooners’ minds. And for good reason.

The goal won the fan vote by a whopping 79%, with Alexis Sanchez’s against Everton clinching just 12% and Mesut Ozil’s powerful header, also at Goodison Park, coming third with a meager 9%.

Giroud has only managed to score three goals this season. One of which was in the Premier League during the opening game of the season against Leicester, the other two have been in Europe. One of which was a penalty, which I feel he was given to take because it was his 100th goal for Arsenal.

However, his beauty against Red Star probably makes up for his drought a little bit.

Saying that, for France, Giroud is still banging them in. The 31-year-old netted his 29th for Les Bleus during a friendly clash against Wales on Friday – his second in five appearances for his country this season.
