Grumpy Arsenal fans have done what they normally do, and taken to Twitter to have a go at one of their own players.

The latest victim of criticism is Nacho Monreal. The 31-year-old won the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for October, but the announcement came at the same time as the 3-1 loss to Manchester City, where he gave away a penalty.

So rather than congratulating the defender, Arsenal fans on Twitter expressed their disbelief at how Monreal could possibly win an award for his performances in October, despite making a mistake in November.

It’s almost as if the two have no impact on each other, but apparently no one told Arsenal fans that, reports Football.London.

Admittedly, PUMA didn’t help matters, as they set themselves up for more of the same kinds of responses with their tweet about Nacho’s month.

In October, Monreal scored two goals, cleared one off the line against West Brom, and consistently stepped up to the challenge of playing in a new position as part of an regularly changing back-three.

The Spaniard therefore didn’t have the easiest of tasks, and still managed to come out of the month with a number of good performances anyway.
