Fenerbahce have made Jack Wilshere their priority signing, according to reports in Turkey.

The board of the Turkish side think the squad lacks creativity in midfield, and with Wilshere running down the final 12 months of his contract, Fenerbahce are watching and waiting to make a move, according to Ajansspor.

Arsène Wenger says Wilshere’s Arsenal future will be decided in December, as the Gunners boss wanted to give him time to focus on his football and get fit after his latest injury.

The 25-year-old has also indicated he wants to stay with the Gunners, so as long as he stays fit and keeps performing well it seems the most likely option is that his contract is extended.

However, if that doesn’t end up happening, Fenerbahce are clearly interested in bringing another former Arsenal player to Turkey.

Robin van Persie currently plays for the club, while Lukas Podolski, Oğuzhan Özyakup, Emmanuel Eboué and Emmanuel Adebayor have all spent time in the country with other clubs in the last couple of years.

Wilshere is very popular with the fans currently. Supporters have been chanting his name at most games whether he’s picked or not. This season might be his last chance to impress, but so far he’s doing a decent job, in my opinion.
