Despite several players pulling out of the England squad, Jack Wilshere still couldn’t get a call up.
With friendlies against Germany and Brazil coming up, several England players thought it was a good time to mention they were injured.
Dele Alli, Fabian Delph, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Jordan Henderson have all pulled out. Conveniently, most of them happen to play for Tottenham and Manchester City.
With a big shortage in midfield, many thought that Wilshere, who’s had a decent season so far, would get a call-up. Gareth Southgate, though, decided to call up Burnley’s Jack Cork and West Brom’s Jake Livermore instead.
The decision has left fans feeling very confused, reports Football.London.
Jack Wilshere showed more in five minutes against Red Star Belgrade to be more worthy of an England call-up than either Livermore or Cork.

Evidently, Southgate has opted for players who have been playing regularly in the Premier League. Wilshere has played several times in the Carabao Cup and in the Europa League, but has only made two sub appearances in the Premier League.
In the grand scheme of things, missing a pair of friendlies in November might not be too bad. Wilshere still has plenty of time to impress Southgate and win a spot in his squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
