Teenage striker Keinan Davis has signed a new contract with Aston Villa amid interest from Arsenal.

The 19-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season in the Championship and has earned the attention of both Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, according to the Daily Star, Davis has ignored the interest from the Premier League to extend his contract with Aston Villa to 2020.

Davis has featured 13 times for Villa this season, and has scored twice. Described as an old fashioned centre forward, he was found playing for non-league Biggleswade Town in 2015.

He has since made an impact in the Villa first-team and is showing plenty of promise.

Stories of players coming from non-league to be successful in the professional leagues are becoming more and more common. Arsenal themselves recently signed Cohen Bramall, whom they found playing for Hednesford Town last season.

While Bramall has struggled for game time at Birmingham, Davis is at least getting experience with Aston Villa. Arsenal won’t mind him extending with Villa, as they’ll be keen to develop their own talent.

Eddie Nketiah, who is a year younger than Davis, has been in good form recently and could be on the verge of breaking into the first-team.
