Schalke midfielder, Leon Goretzka, reportedly wants a move to the Premier League when his contract runs out next summer.

After Germany’s national team general manager Oliver Bierhoff confirmed that Goretzka could be leaving Schalke for the Premier League once his contract expires at the end of the season, the reports linking the 22-year-old with a move to England are begun to gather pace.

According to Sport, the midfielder would turn down the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for a chance to join an English team.

Interestingly, while Goal mentions Arsenal (and Tottenham) as a possible destination for Goretzka, and the German has been linked with the Gunners before, the original report only highlights interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Goretzka has scored four goals in nine Bundesliga appearances this season and has started in eight of them. He’s a regular for Schalke and they’re bound to be a little bit miffed that they’re potentially losing another first team player on a free a year after Sead Kolasinac left for Arsenal.

Could the German side convince him to stay? If Bierhoff’s words are anything to go by, it’s not looking likely. The money and competition is currently in the Premier League.
